2024

The Oxford Initiative | Global Women’s Narratives Project took on 35 new student fellows and team editors for the year. We added a new women and conflict journalism theme to our September Oxford workshop, and started a new narrative theme on women in politics. Graduate student attendees in September then traveled with GWNP team leaders to Cairo and Belfast to interview women for our project.

I will be teaching a new course at USC in 2025 in the Global Security Studies MA: Global Human Rights and Human Security.

2023

The Global Women’s Narratives Project trained twenty new student fellows at Oxford University in June of 2023. Followed by a trip to visit our newest Advisory Board member, Tamar Karosanidze, and old friend George Welton. We interviewed amazing Georgian and Ukrainian women in Tbilisi, Georgia. Many thanks to Tamuna, Charlotte, Ezi, Kate, Emily Rae, Alex, and Clair for the summer teamwork. Posted soon on the GWNP archival site. A new group of medical narratives graduate students started at USC.

I joined David’s work trip across the UK to canvas historical stained glass and family sites from the past. Followed by attending the opening of colleague Maria Fusco’s operatic documentary about working women in Northern Ireland: History of the Present. Playing Fall 2023 at the Belfast Opera House.

Images below are from our War & Peace Series in Oxford in July and August of 2022 and our women’s narrative project travel to Northern Ireland and Greece. In August—between our short courses—I participated in my Oxford commencement ceremony.

Our MSt in International Human Rights Law cohort had a strong showing—congratulations all! My family traveled over from Los Angeles, and we did a European friends tour to Berlin, Istanbul, Tbilisi, and Brugge.

Benjamin Judson turns 22 and Gio Judson turns 19.
